Forensic Casebook
Victim: | Peter Halliday | |

Suspect(s): | John Earle |
An independent review on behalf of police of the blood pattern and DNA evidence which had helped to convict Earle of the 1997 murder of Peter Halliday, confirmed and strengthened the original findings.
Additional work on footwear failed to implicate a key witness who, it was suggested, might alternatively have been responsible for the murder. This helped allay concerns about the safety of the original conviction.
