Crime Scene Managers (CSM) - Training Course

This two-week course will provide an introduction to the role of the Crime Scene Manager (CSM) and the structure of major incident investigation.

Who is this Course for?

This course is designed for Crime Scene Managers or experienced Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) looking to undertake Crime Scene Management duties.

Course Aims:

Provide an understanding of the role of the CSM and its relation to other key police roles.
Develop the advanced skills of the CSMs, including major scene awareness and use of strategic decision-making tools.
Final courtroom exercise to assess new and existing practical skills
Teach the production of major crime logs, how to direct CSI staff on scenes and to deploy and manage forensic scientists.

Scene Management Principles
Direction and Briefing of CSI’s and Forensic Scientists at Major Scenes
ISO Standards
Leadership and Management
Role of the SIO and CSM
Kidnap and Murder Investigations
Assessed Scenes Briefing and Practical
Fire Investigation
